My yoga teacher says “We get on our mats to feel more”. It took a long time for me to understand what it meant to “drop into your body” and what yoga as a lifestyle really meant. Connecting our breath with our movements allow us to get out of our headspace and into our feelings without judgement. Just noticing what comes up and if we can soften our bodies into postures than we can soften into our feelings as well. That softening allows us to move through our pain and struggles. The movement helps us to let it go.
